Hot Dog Tracker lets you keep a personal, photo-based log of the hot dogs you eat — and, if you choose, share photos to a friend feed so the people you're connected with can see them. This policy explains what stays on your device, what gets shared, and how you can control it.
Information We Collect
Your on-device log
The hot dogs you log and the photos you take are stored locally on your device using Core Data. Entries you do not share never leave your device.
Account information
To use the friend feed you sign in with Apple. We receive a unique identifier for your account and, on your very first sign-in only, the name associated with your Apple ID (Apple does not provide this on later sign-ins). We store this as your display name. If you choose to set a username, that is stored alongside your account.
Shared photos and the friend feed
When you choose to share a hot dog, we upload that photo to our backend (Firebase) so it can appear in the friend feed. Along with the photo, we store your display name or username and the date and time of the post. Photos you do not explicitly share are never uploaded.
Friend connections
When you connect with other people in the app, we store those connections so we can build your friend feed and show your shared posts to the friends you've added.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not collect your location, contacts, or browsing activity. We access your camera and photos only to capture or attach the hot dog photos you choose to add. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
How We Use Your Information
- To maintain your personal, on-device hot dog log
- To let you share photos to the friend feed and to show you the shared posts of friends you've connected with
- To maintain your account and optional username
Data Sharing
We use Firebase (a Google Cloud service) as our backend infrastructure provider. Firebase processes data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. Photos you choose to share, along with your display name or username and the post's date and time, are visible to the friends you connect with in the app. We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties for advertising.
Camera and Photos
Camera and photo library access is used solely to capture or attach photos of hot dogs that you add to the app. These photos stay on your device unless you choose to share a post to the friend feed.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you do, we delete your account record, your username, the photos and posts you shared to the friend feed, and your friend connections from our servers. Your on-device log can be removed by deleting individual entries or by deleting the app. Uninstalling the app does not remove data already stored on our servers — use the in-app account deletion option to do that.
Children's Privacy
Hot Dog Tracker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Choices
- You choose which hot dogs, if any, to share — nothing is uploaded unless you share it.
- You can revoke the app's camera and photo access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security.
- You can delete your account and the data stored on our servers at any time from within the app.
- You can contact us at info@superhypelabs.com with questions or data requests.
Security
We use industry-standard practices and rely on Firebase/Google Cloud's security infrastructure to protect your data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above.
